Site Plan Approval
Kirby Structures Ltd takes the project forward from the conceptual to the approval stage. Site Plan Approval is a planning review process which examines design and technical aspects of a proposed development to ensure high-quality building design, contributes to an attractive streetscape and skyline, complements the local neighbourhood or local business area, and meets the municipality’s requirements for servicing the site.
Applications for Site Plan Approval are filed prior to any building or expansion requiring a building permit. Kirby Structures Ltd will have consulted with the municipality’s Planning and Development Services prior to submitting the proposal. This provides an opportunity to review, as a concept, the impact of the proposed development.
Building Permits regulate various types of building construction that are allowed in the municipality and ensure that they meet all building standards. The Building Permit process protects both the owner’s interests and those of the community at large. It also helps to ensure that any structural change is safe.
